A team approach to safety and security
WorldStrides’ in-house Health & Safety Team, led by our Chief Academic, Health & Safety Officer and Head of Health & Safety, leverages decades of experience to continually assess the safety of the destinations where we travel and the activities in which our students participate. Our WorldAssist by WorldStrides Team serves as our emergency response command centre, staffed 24/7 by WorldStrides employees who are specially trained to handle any on program situation — no matter how big or how small.
Explorica by WorldStrides relies on a deep network of partnerships. Through our exclusive relationship with The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates, Dr. Neal Sikka* serves as a Medical Advisor to WorldStrides and manages the 24/7 Doctors on Call program. We work with outside partners to set the standards for medical, evacuation, and liability insurance with best-in-class support that provides an extra layer of coverage for our participants, our Program Leaders, and the schools with which we partner. We are one of only several organizations to be a Certified Student Travel Organization (CSTO) by the Student Youth Travel Association (SYTA), a designation awarded to companies meeting a rigorous set of safety standards. We maintain an ongoing relationship with ExLog, a global risk management company providing intelligence, insight, and in-depth assessments of our program destinations, up-to-date reporting on breaking situations and evolving threats worldwide, and emergency response services.
*Dr. Neal Sikka, The George Washington University Department of Emergency Medicine, and The George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates are independent medical providers. WorldStrides is not a medical service provider and its employees do not render medical care or treatment, nor does WorldStrides control the selection, training, or supervision of any medical provider.
Travel with confidence
We’ve had more than 400,000 travellers explore the world with us since 2021 alone. Our WorldClass policies support individuals and groups with added flexibility should the need arise.
WorldClass Flexibility Guarantee
If a group or individual decides they are not comfortable travelling to the planned destination or on the scheduled dates, they can move the trip to an alternative destination or move to a new future date up until 60 days prior to departure for international and/or flight tours. Changing the destination or date of the trip will be determined based on availability of trip components including, but not limited to, accommodations, venues, attractions, content, meals, and transportation. We will work with the group's Program Leader to find an alternative future date up to 24 months from the original departure date. The group or individual will be able to adjust the trip with no additional fees, just the difference (if applicable) in the price of the new trip. If the group reschedules to a new destination or date and then decides to cancel, the cancellation fees will be calculated from the date of transfer from the original tour and standard cancellation fees will apply.
