Chicago: Birthplace of the Skyscraper

March 17, 2014  -  March 19, 2014

Hi, we had a great first day in Chicago. We met our tour director Clara Sachs at the hotel and our bus driver Steve. They are a great team. We got on the bus and went to Millenium Park and saw the Bean. We got some great pictures. The sun was out and it wasn't as cold as we expected. We got to see some neat Tiffany glass at the Cultural Center. After lunch we walked up Michicgan Ave the Magnificient Mile. We saw some cool old buildings and the two buildings that did not burn down in the Chicago fire. We got some time to shop and found some great sales at the Nike store. Clara took us into a cool old Gothic church and she showed us what made it so old. We had dinner and went to the Sears Tower. It is over 100 stories tall. They have this awesome see through ledge that you can stand on and you are 100 stories up in the air! We all got our pictures standing on it. Then we drove to the water and got some great nightime shots of Chicago. We are back at the hotel and have an early day tomorrow. We are going to a Pizza making class! See ya!
