Day 1: June 15, 2016
Wow! It's only our first day here in Montreal and we've already had so much fun! After a lengthy bus ride on our bus "Carl" we finally arrived. With the beautiful sun shining we thought, "what a beautiful day for a canoe ride along the thousand islands!" On three canoes, we set sail to two different islands where we learned about the importance of animals in the ecosystem. We learned that when a woodpecker doesn't use its 30 cm long tongue (as big as its body length) that it wraps its tongue around its brain to prevent concussions when pecking. Talk about smart! After the canoe tours we headed back to the hotel to freshen up before dinner. Looking all fresh and clean we headed to Briskets to sample Montreal's famous smoked me. It was delicious! Although it was a short day, we can't wait to see what Montreal has in store for us tommorow. Goodnight for now.
