London, Paris & Berlin

March 24, 2023  -  April 3, 2023

We started our day with a walking tour of Berlin. Our first stop was Alexanderplatz with its 1200 feet high TV tower. From there we made our way through the Nikolai Quarter - the oldest part of Berlin. We saw the town hall Rotes Rathaus, the newly built Berlin Palace, the Berlin Cathedral and the Museum Island. Next we visited The Neue Wache - a touching memorial for victims of war and tyranny. After crossing Unter den Linden, Berlin's main avenue, we stopped at the Book Burning Memorial, before walking across Bebelsplatz and the Gendarmenmarkt - two of Berlin's most beautiful squares surrounded by Prussian architecture. We took our lunch break at Checkpoint Charlie, a former border crossing between East and West Berlin. After lunch we spent a couple of hours in the Wall Museum and the Kaiser Wilhelm Gedächtniskirche - ruins of a church that was destroyed in WWII. We ended a long day of exploring with a photo stop at the Brandenburg Gate before returning to the hotel.
