Day 2: March 8, 2019
ROMA: CAPUT MUNDI. We have just landed in the city. Of all the historic cities, it is Rome the one that exerts the most compelling fascination. In this city a phenomenal concentration of history, legend and monuments coexist with an equally concentration of people busily going about every day life. As soon as we landed we met our tour director and we were immediately introduced to the culture of this country. We first drove to our hotel where we were able to rest and freshen up a bit. We then boarded our bus and drove down town. We reached the historical city centre where we all experienced the Italian Dolce Vita. We wandered around just like the locals do. We took our walking tour through the historical centre of Rome. We know that this city has many piazzas and fountains and the style of our day was Baroque. But also the buildings of the medieval, Gothic and Renaissance periods, as well as the architectural embellishments of the post-Risorgimento and Fascist era. We As it was our first day we thought of getting our first gelato of the tour. We are planning at least one gelato per day. Buona notte!
