Day 1: May 19, 2010
INTRODUCTION: Hello!
My name is Andrew and I will be the Tour Director for Blessed Sacrament's trip to Montreal. I am really excited to meet the group and to show them around the city. I will do my best to upload pictures and text every day but because our day is so jam-packed with activities, I might not be able to get it done every single day. Please be patient and keep checking back. Your Tour Diary will be complete with at least 3 photos per day at the latest 24 hours after we return back home.
Happy Travels.
DAY 1:
Bonjour! Hello and greetings from the beautiful city of Montreal. We had a very exciting day as we drove all the way from Toronto to the home of The Montreal Canadiens (sorry Leafs fans.) Our first stop, and the main event of the day, was a visit to Circus School in Verdun. The grade 8s were separated into 4 groups, each participating in a unique activity. One group participated in a juggling workshop, and learn the basics of juggling two or more items. Another group got to jump on the trampolines. The third group of students exercised their balance on a variety of tight ropes and other items. The fourth group used every one of their muscles in a series of climbing activities. Don’t worry, the activities were done on a rotating schedule. Everyone got to try everything at once. Following the activities in Verdun we had an opportunity to try some authentic Montreal smoked meat. Lucky for us, because we booked at the Travelodge, we went from dinner to a pizza party! Though the food at supper was enough for some, the cheese pizza proved to be an excellent snack.
Hopefully with everything that we did today the group will get lots of sleep for the bigger and busier day we have ahead of us tomorrow.
