This is John, the tour director for this group. I am excited to show them Alaska!
The group left Seattle just a few minutes late and is scheduled to arrive at 3 pm local time (7 pm EDT). Tonight we are having dinner at the Alaska Salmon Bake. More details and photos to come once the group arrives.
After arrival we went to Fred Meyer to buy some supplies for the week - especially bottled water and some snacks. Had just over an hour at the hotel before we loaded the coach to drive to the Salmon Bake for dinner - choice of grilled salmon, prime rib or beer-battered cod along with a self-serve salad bar and dessert. It was well-received. Gave everyone some time after dinner to wander through Pioneer Park, adjacent to where we ate. It was established in 1967 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the purchase of Alaska from Russia. Loaded the coach at 7.30 pm to go back to the hotel for some much-needed rest after a full day of traveling.
