Day 22: June 24, 2019
I’m not sure how everyone slept but I could hear fireworks last night well until 2 am!
In Barcelona we celebrate Sant Joan, the 23rd of June has the longest day and the shortest night of the year so everyone is out partying and celebrating!
Luckily today everyone has been able to wake up and to have breakfast a bit later.
After so many days I’m sure they all appreciated having the chance to sleep in and to have the whole day to do activities almost without me having to limit their time. And I say almost because I did not want to miss my last dinner with my amazing group so at 6:30 we met for dinner.
Barcelona is on the coast, by the Mediterranean Sea, so guess what most people did? Go to the beach, of course!
Last night I gave everyone directions on how to go to the beach and everyone did so well in finding it. Everyone has learned how to travel by metro which, although not difficult, is something I’m very proud of. Some people do not know how it works so I hope everyone feels confident enough to use it if they ever travel alone.
Bogatell beach was a good option for everyone as it is quite local and is not as busy as Barceloneta beach, which is more near the centre.
Everyone looked so refreshed when I meet them for dinner! We have not stopped one single day during the tour so I guess chilling and going to the beach was a great choice.
For dinner today we went to the marina, to a restaurant called Tinglado. We tried paella which a national dish that originally comes from Valencia and that I personally love!
We are now back in the hotel and I guess everyone might be preparing their suitcases for tomorrow. This is alway a strange part of the tour. I’m very happy that it all went well and that everyone has enjoyed it but I also feel sad that it has come to an end...
I will be very happy to see everyone tomorrow at breakfast again!
