New Orleans

Day 1. We had a very busy day. Our first stop was a Louisiana based grocery chain. We had a lesson on peeling and eating crawfish, a local spring delicacy. We had beignets at the Cafe du Monde for dessert. Spent time at Jackson Square, learned about the Battle of New Orleans, Andrew Jackson’s role in the battle, and the Pontalba Apartments. Visited the inside of St. Louis Cathederal, America’s oldest continuining operating Cathedral. We traveled down St Charles Street and saw beautiful old mansions and the operating street cars. The weather was nice for a zoo visit. Slightly overcast but warm.
