Day 2: April 24, 2019
I'm very pleased to say that the group arrived safe and sound this morning to The Queen's Terminal at London's Heathrow airport. They were a little tired following the long journey but also very excited to begin the tour. The first thing we did was get on board a bus that transferred us to our first hotel which is located next to the home of football, Wembley Stadium!
Despite arriving really early the hotel is able to check us in and shortly after we are ready to walk down Wembley Way for great views of the stadium before taking our first journey on the world's oldest metropolitan railway, the London Underground. We head first to Piccadilly Circus in the heart of the West End, before walking to Leicester Square and into Trafalgar Square, the centre of the capital.
The group are currently enjoying a visit inside The National Gallery to see the many artistic masterpieces on display. We'll be meeting again soon to walk across the river Thames for a flight on the famous London Eye and the plan is then to take a nice leisurely walk along the South Bank to work up an appetite for our traditional fish and chips supper later on!
