Day 2: June 12, 2024
Day 2
Visiting the old town of Barcelona
Hey everyone! Congratulations on how well you all managed to overcome the jet lag and dived straight into the heart of Barcelona. That’s the spirit I love to see!
We walked along the Rambla from the Christopher Columbus monument to La Boqueria Market, where you tried delicious bites of fruit, cheese, jams, and other delicacies. We also had smoothies and maybe some coffee. After that, we spent two hours walking through the maze of the old city to immerse ourselves in history. The Cathedral looked stunning under a light blue sky, and we all enjoyed the fresh breeze there. We also discovered the fascinating facade of the room where Columbus met the Catholic Kings. We strolled down to take a peek at the Roman remains of the city and stood in front of a couple of original columns from Roman times. Then we made it to the charming neighborhood of El Born. From there, we took a short drive to our hotel to change clothes and get ready to enjoy some tapas for dinner. We also sang happy birthday in Spanish to Eva.
You guys are champions!
