Day 7: April 1, 2025
After a warming breakfast the group left Hlashow headed south-west towards Ayrshire and the ferry port of Cairnryan to catch the Stena Line ferry to Belfast. The weather was good as we passed through a farming landscape with new born lambs and cattle aplenty! We arrived in good time for the ferry check-in and boarded. The journey was smooth and took just over two hours. To arrive in Belfast in Northern Ireland. On arrival we joined another coach and headed for the Giant’s Causeway on the northern coast of the country, the Giant’s Causeway is a unique geological feature created by volcanic fissure eruptions millions of years ago. The basalt columns go into the sea and it is said that the causeway once linked Scotland and Ireland but was destroyed when a Scottish giant destroyed it as he was fearful of an Irish giant pursuing him across the causeway. The weather was great, with a lot of blue sky and no rain! The coach then headed on to the hotel in Antrim where the group were able to enjoy dinner ahead of Belfast sightseeing the following day!
