Scotland

We went to St Andrew's for our last day in Scotland... the sun was shining, the wind was blowing... but it wasn't raining or snowing!! Woohoo!! We took the Forth Road Bridge across the Firth of Forth which gave us great views of both the Forth Rail Bridge, a UNESCO world heritage site and the Queensferry crossing to our left. All 3 bridges are incredible feats of engineering in their own individual ways. It was a very pretty drive though Fife up to St Andrews... and on arrival, Emma took us for a guided walk through the tiny city showing us the Old Course (first ever golf course from 1400's) St Salvator's Chapel, St Mary's Quad, the Cathedral, ending up at the castle for our visit there. Both the Cathedral and castle are in ruins but it was still really interesting to explore the grounds of such an old building. We had free time to explore the city and have some lunch before reconvening back at the coach after some time on the sandy beach. From St Andrews we headed back south to Falkirk, and after a stop to take pics of the Kelpies, we had our last meal at a chip shop, Benny T's. Everyone enjoyed their delicious fish and chip supper followed by yummy ice cream. The trip back to the hotel was short and a little sad as it was time to say good bye to Brian our driver. An early night for everyone tonight as we are up at 3am tomorrow to catch our flight.
