When he saw his church completed, the Protestant architect of the Notre Dame Basilica was so inspired that he converted to Catholicism. The blue-and-gold interior certainly is inspiring—practically every inch of the immense church is covered in gold leaf. The imported stained-glass windows show the history of Montréal. This famous Basilica demonstrates how the church played a significant role in Canada’s history.

Day 2 Discover Montréal

Come closer to nature at the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium in Montreal. Explore life on earth through interactive and hands-on exhibitions and its immersive shows.
Details: Cosmodome Space Visit
Upon entering a room that looks like a spaceship capsule, you move away from Earth at breakneck speed. The destination of this trip? None other than the Red Planet! This two-hour long program gives students a taste of the wonders of space. Students will become space adventurers on an interactive virtual mission where they will learn if they have what it takes to be an astronaut. After they have completed their mission, students will explore the museum: learning about the planets and some of the greatest moments in the history of space exploration.

Day 3 Au Revoir Montréal

Details: Montréal Science Centre visit
If you’re intrigued by science and technology, passionate about ecology or conservation, then a visit to the Montreal Science Center is a must. The Centre offers several interactive exhibits and workshops where you need to use your knowledge, imagination and creativity to find solutions to improve our world including the interactive news room (idTV) and the game room that has you find solutions to real life ecological issues (Mission Gaia).
Details: Mont Royal and Beaver Lake visit
Overlooking the city of Montréal, Mont Royal boasts breathtaking views from the highest point in the city. Considered to be the oldest protected area in Québec, this large urban park was designed by celebrated landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted. Inspired by “the poetic charms of natural scenery,” the park would be his only creation in Canada. Students can experience the public sculptures, paintings and installations, explore Smith House, the Chalet and the Beaver Lake Pavilion, and see a cross originally erected in 1643 to give thanks to God for saving the colony from a flood.
