During their history tours abroad, many of our Canadian student travellers visit famous WWI and WWII cemeteries and battlefields to understand how and where soldiers fought and died. It’s in these moments of travelling that students begin to realize just how young the soldiers were, often only a few years older than themselves. In an effort to continue to foster interest and understanding of the lives of veterans, we teamed up with snapd Scarborough to interview veterans about life after war at the Tony Stacey Centre in Scarborough, Ontario this Remembrance Day.
Sharing honest and personal experiences from their time before, during and after Service, the residents of Scarborough’s Tony Stacey Centre – the only Veterans’ Care facility in the country that allows non-serving spouses and family members to live together – gives us unprecedented insight into the memories of our country’s heroes.
